Dated Jan. 19, 2001, the sample found levels of free testosterone (in Barry Bonds) that could not be accurately measured as they were higher than 5.00. A normal free testosterone level for a male aged between 20 and 49 ranges between 0.95 and 4.30, the record stated.

During the grand jury hearing, prosecutors quoted to Bonds a section of test summarizing the findings.

“The percentage of total testosterone in unbound state, per cent free testosterone, cannot be calculated since the free testosterone level is greater than the highest detectable concentration,” it read.
